I ran into my fellow VA artist & song writer, Taylor G, at a Samoht show in NYC. She was around for a quick visit and we had only been musical friends in passing, so we made plans to get together the next day to record. I played a few old songs that needed female vocals, finally landing on "Retail".

The song was from April 2016, around the time when I was newly single from a long relationship and was just starting to get feels for this girl that was into clothes and things. In this time of my life I was living alone and had plenty of extra money to get caught up spending on someone. In the song, I sing about how hopeful I am that the girl has more depth. You can tell I'm super divided, emotional, and probably willing to spoil this flashy girl.. Taylor isn't the flashy type but a great writer and tapped into her gold digger energy for me!
