This song is about missing simplicity with someone. It's about speaking up to them with reassurance that you got them if they can just show up and give the same passion back.

I featured my friend Nicki aka Amazonian Rockstar. She was one of my first friends in NYC and she just so happens to be a powerhouse vocalist. The "yeahs" I originally recorded sounded weak to me. I knew she was the one for the job! The song also features keys from Nick Hetko. I met him through a project with Du'Bois A'keen and Alvin Ailey Dance school, and I knew he could paint beautifully around the guitars I recorded. He closes out the song with a beautiful piano solo that makes me feel like I'm racing Mario Kart.
