I met Koncept in Norfolk, VA, years ago, through my Groovemnt bros — I’d catch him live often and always respected his ability to wordsmith and deliver. “Bad Man Coming” started as a production challenge I made for myself, just to cook up something for Instagram using my upright bass.

While visiting VA, I hit up Koncept, and he pulled up to my dad’s man cave. In that first session, we each laid down a verse and the track found its purpose. One of my favorite touches is the pitched-down intro. Koncept’s voice sounds dark and heavy as he talks about walking in light.

This song is about misperception and moving in light with excellence, confidence, and strong boundaries. Shouts to Billy Mercury and Big Torrin for pulling up and helping with the video.​
